7.1.12 beta2 available!

March 20, 2015 by Suyi

Hi community,

 Today we would like to publish BETA2 of ZCP 7.1.12. Main topics are SSL and patched Outlook clients.

 “Hey you, Zarafa administrator, here are some more SSL configuration options!”

 The main focus of this release is to add configurable SSL ciphers. This allows administrators to configure ZCP components to fully leverage enterprise security configurations specified with the new SSL settings.

 As the ciphers are depended on the SSL library of the system, we have set the default setting to a value which is accepted on all supported system. Please adjust these settings to your needs. Due to this change, the zarafa-server will not start unless you add the following settings into the server.cfg:

   # SSL protocols to use, set to '!SSLv2' for 'server_ssl_enable_v2 = no'

 server_ssl_protocols = !SSLv2

 # SSL ciphers to use, set to 'ALL' for backward compatibility

 server_ssl_ciphers = ALL:!LOW:!SSLv2:!EXP:!aNULL

 # Prefer the server's order of SSL ciphers over client's

 server_ssl_prefer_server_ciphers = no

 New Zarafa clients for Outlook 2013 users

Over the last week, Microsoft decided to push some Outlook updates again. These updates always have our first priority because we need to provide a patch that restores the advanced collaboration features. We have released the clients before last Friday. They are now also included in this release, making the following Outlook versions compatible to Zarafa too:

  • Outlook 2013 OEM (15.0.4701.1000)
  •  Outlook 2013 Click-2-run (15.0.4701.1002)
