This is a bit of an off-topic post.
I have been involved in something called the demoscene for a pretty long time now. The demoscene is a collection of computer artists, being creative in music, graphics and programming. These people come together now and then in something called a demoparty. For the untrained observer it looks a lot like an LAN party; lots of people crammed into a single space, all staring at screens. Writing a firefox extension for WebApp

A few weeks ago I had a look into what's a nice way to create a firefox extension for WebApp. The very simple extension I made was the firefox apptab notifier; a simple notifier that replaces the in-app popup messages with an OS-specific 'toaster' popup that tells you that you have new mail, even when firefox is not on your screen.
